PPSC Assistant Director (Engineering) & (Town Planning) Jobs 2026 — PHATA, 6 Posts, BS-17
The Punjab Public Service Commission has announced two Assistant Director posts at the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA), under the Housing Urban Development & Public Health Engineering Department, through Advertisement No. 10/2026, published in newspapers on 17 September 2026. Both posts are BS-17, contract-based for a period of 3 years, and open to male, female, and transgender candidates on open merit. Online applications close 5 October 2026 through the official PPSC website.
While both roles share the same pay scale and contract structure, they lead to genuinely different technical tracks within PHATA — one civil engineering, one urban planning — so read the qualification requirements carefully before applying.
1. Assistant Director (Engineering) — Case No. 23-RA/2026 — 3 Posts
- Qualification: B.Sc. (Engineering) in Civil Engineering from a recognized university, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government
- Mandatory Registration: Valid permanent registration with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), issued on or before the closing date
- Age Limit: Male 21 to 28 years (+5 years general relaxation = up to 33); Female 21 to 28 years (+8 years relaxation = up to 36); transgender candidates' age and sex based on CNIC
- Domicile: Any district of the Province of Punjab
- Place of Posting: Anywhere in Punjab
- Test: One MCQ-type written paper, 100 marks, 90 minutes — 100% qualification-related questions
2. Assistant Director (Town Planning) — Case No. 24-RA/2026 — 3 Posts
- Qualification: B.Sc. City & Regional Planning degree from a recognized university, duly registered with the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP)
- Mandatory Registration: Valid permanent registration with PCATP, issued on or before the closing date
- Age Limit: Male 21 to 35 years (+5 years relaxation = up to 40); Female 21 to 35 years (+8 years relaxation = up to 43); transgender candidates' age and sex based on CNIC
- Domicile: Any district of the Province of Punjab
- Place of Posting: Anywhere in Punjab
- Test: One MCQ-type written paper, 100 marks, 90 minutes — 100% qualification-related questions
Note the meaningfully wider age bracket for the Town Planning post (up to 21-35 base range) compared to Engineering (21-28 base range) — a City & Regional Planning specialization at this level tends to draw slightly more experienced applicants, and PPSC's age structure reflects that.
Important PPSC-Wide Instructions (Apply to Both Posts)
- Read the "Important Instructions" on the PPSC website regarding application fee, written test, and interview before applying online.
- Test schedules and syllabus updates are issued only on the official PPSC website — check it frequently.
- Federal/semi-government/autonomous body and local body employees are not entitled to age concession for their period of service in such organizations.
- If your qualification is claimed as equivalent to the prescribed one, you must submit an HEC or QEDC equivalence certificate at the time of interview or whenever asked — failure to do so cancels your candidature.
- Private-firm experience claims require proof of the firm's registration with SECP, Registrar of Firms, or another regulatory authority.
- In-service candidates must obtain/apply for NOC or DPC from their current department and produce it at interview.
- PEC (Engineering post) or PCATP (Town Planning post) registration certificates must be obtained or applied for on or before the closing date, and produced at interview if called.
- Degree marks must be provided as marks obtained/total marks or percentage certified by the competent authority — CGPA is not acceptable.
- No information from any source other than the official PPSC website should be trusted.
- Application fees must be paid online only — ATMs, mobile/internet banking, 1Link member bank branches, JazzCash, EasyPaisa, UPaisa, or other listed micro-finance banks.
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted online through the official PPSC portal — www.ppsc.gop.pk — on or before 5 October 2026. PPSC's advertisement does not provide separate case-specific application links; both posts are applied for through the same online application system after selecting the relevant case number.
Why This Matters
With only 3 posts per role, competition will be tight, but these are solid BS-17 contract entry points into Punjab's housing and urban planning sector — particularly relevant if you hold a PEC-registered Civil Engineering degree or a PCATP-registered City & Regional Planning degree and have been waiting for a matching PPSC opening.
