Scotland Pakistan Scholarship 2026-27 — Fully Funded Support for Young Women and Girls
The British Council, in partnership with the Scottish Government, is inviting applications for the Scotland Pakistan Scholarship Scheme for Young Women and Girls 2026–27. First launched in 2013, this programme has supported more than 25,000 women across Pakistan, aiming to make higher education more accessible for women facing financial and social barriers. The application deadline has been extended to 15 September 2026.
Scholarship Overview
- Funds Bachelor's and Master's/MPhil study at any HEC-recognized university across Pakistan
- Undergraduate: 4-year bachelor's degree
- Postgraduate: Maximum 2-year master's/MPhil degree
- Young women with disabilities, from rural areas, and/or from minority groups are especially encouraged to apply
- Open exclusively to female applicants
Eligible Subject Areas
The scholarship covers study in one of the following fields only:
- Education
- Sustainable Energy
- Food Security and Agriculture
- Health Sciences
- STEM
- Climate
What the Scholarship Covers
- Tuition fees for courses in eligible fields
- University hostel costs (where applicable)
- Travel to and from home to university, twice a year, for students staying in on-campus hostels
- Funds for research work — access to quality labs, equipment, and tools within the chosen course of study (Master's students only)
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a Pakistani national currently residing in Pakistan
- Must be pursuing a 2-year master's degree or 4-year bachelor's degree in one of the eligible subject areas listed above
- Must hold a confirmed admission offer from an HEC-recognized university in Pakistan

- Application Deadline: 15 September 2026 (extended from the original 31 August 2026 date)
