The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) has invited online applications for 36 Medical Officer posts under the Sindh Home Department, through its Consolidated Advertisement No. 05/2026 dated 25 September 2026. This covers 32 posts for Medical Officer (Male) and 4 posts for Lady Medical Officer, both BPS-17. Applications are online only — manual applications will not be entertained — and close on 23 October 2026.

Medical Officer (BPS-17) Male — 32 Posts

  • Qualification: MBBS from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), registration with the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC), and completion of one year of house job.
  • Age Limit: 21–28 years
  • Quota breakdown: Open Merit 28 (17 Rural, 11 Urban), Differently-Abled Persons Quota 2 (1 Rural, 1 Urban), Minority Quota 2 (1 Rural, 1 Urban) — total 32

Lady Medical Officer (BPS-17) — 4 Posts

  • Qualification: Same as above — MBBS from an HEC-recognized university, PMDC registration, and completion of one year of house job.
  • Age Limit: 21–28 years
  • Quota breakdown: Open Merit 4 (2 Rural, 2 Urban) — total 4

Both posts carry identical qualification requirements; the difference is simply that Lady Medical Officer posts are reserved for female candidates.

How to Apply

  1. Generate a PSID (Payment Slip ID) through the SPSC online system before paying the application fee.
  2. Pay the Rs. 500 challan fee through any online payment channel, selecting the "1 Bill invoice/service" option. One challan covers all categories under a single post.
  3. Register on the official SPSC website — www.spsc.gov.pk — and complete your profile.
  4. Apply through the "Available Jobs" feature once registration is complete.
  5. Submit before 23 October 2026. The online application feature stays open round the clock, except on the closing date itself, when it closes at 5:00 PM.

Know This Before You Apply

Once you've entered your Domicile, PRC (Form-D), Urban/Rural quota, age, qualification, experience and examination centre, none of these can be changed after the closing date — double-check everything before you submit. Your CNIC number and date of birth must also be entered correctly; a wrong entry leads to outright rejection. You need the required qualification and relevant certificates in hand by the closing date of the advertisement, not just by the time you're shortlisted. A general age relaxation applies as per Notification No. SOII (SGA&CD) 5-64/2011 (Part-II) dated 06-03-2025 — note that this specific relaxation does not apply to Police Service posts or posts filled through Combined Competitive Examinations, though it should apply here since these are direct-recruitment posts. If you have a permanent disability and need assistance during the written exam, you must inform SPSC and submit a written application to the Controller of Examinations (with a copy to the Chairperson's office) at least 7 days before the exam, along with your disability certificate and NADRA-issued special CNIC — bring the originals to the exam centre, since no assistance is given without them on the day. SPSC may vary the number of posts without notice, and reserves the right to correct any error at any stage, even after detection later on.
